Whitecap Dakota First Nation Members voted on April 27th, 2023 to amend the Whitecap Dakota Self-Government Agreement.
The proposed amendments amended it to become a treaty that:

Supports WDN's sovereignty and inherent right to self-government; and
-
Recognizes WDN as Aboriginal Peoples under the Constitution of Canada

The Agreement was overwhelmingly approved by members with 92% voting in favour, with over 60% of membership participating in the vote.
